Today, i finally uploaded my project 7! It took me about a week to finish up, but it was worth it, i like the loop I came up with. It has a really techno feel to it, that I find makes me want to get up and dance. Check out my page if you want to hear it.

I finally have the final peices to my project 7! So I used my own creation for the sounds, see my latest post to see how to make them yourself, I also used a hiphop kick drum, the regualar snare, the regular clap and a tom drum for the drum piece of it. It has a techno feel to it again, and this time I made it sound like it was a video game background music loop. It starts with a game over effect which i thought sounded right, then the sounds i created in ABA formate, and then the end is a guy saying "You think that was cool?" I think it sounds [pretty good, hope you guys like it.

Today I changed my sound to 0% niose, 45% pre-filter, 90% sine shaper, 100% skew, 100% tension, and 25% shape. I mixed it well with another sound I created. This one has 0% noise, 35% pre-filter, 80% sine shaper, 5% tension, and 65% shape. These sound mix very well together in aba formate. The riff machine helped me to create the riffs that have a pretty fast tempo. I think this project will have a pretty good out come, I think it will be posted next class.

The first thing I did for project 7 today was make a wave sound. Iused 0% niose, 44% pre-filter, 100% sine shaper, 55% skew, -100% tension, and 55% shape. This makes a buzzing sound that I could work with. Then I went into the Filter 1 tab, and put everything on 52%, this sounded cool. Next I used the riff machine on the sound, and found a really cool riff. I think i'm going to stick with the ABA formate, it's my favortie.

Today I finished my project 6, I finally got the right sound wave to put in it! My project is pretty good now, it makes a lot more sense.

For this project we had to use the sytrus tool and the riff machine t come up with a loop. Sytrus lets you make uyor own sound instead of taking one from the samples. We had to use A A B A style. For my project, I used a sort of technoish sound, and came up with a riff that reminded me of sadness and another of revenge. I also used two sound files, the theme of my project was shooting, first there is a guy that says no shoot, no shoot, you will hear gun fire, then a girl screams no. Then the sadness music with a snare drum, a closed snare drum, and a closed cymbol. Next the girl screams no again and the revenge music. After that there is more gun fire and the sadness music again. It's sad i no, but it makes a great theme! hope everyone likes it.

So today I worked more on my Sytrus project, I have the full riffs a want, I just need some fulls. I'm actually going to put a theme into my project this time! I have been looking for a person saying no on the internet, but i'm not have much luck. I'm confident that I will have my project done by the end of the next class.

Today we learned about the cytrus tool. This is to add effects on to our music, and put them music we generated and use it in the riff machine, which generates riffs from a single note. I thought this was pretty cool, I used the riff machine for other projects but I didnt know you could use your own sounds to put into the riff machine, this was really cool for me.

For this project we had to use a vocoded voice and incorporate it into our song. This is my favorite loop that I have made this year, I like more of the metal music. So this is a metal theme obviously, and I was thinking it would go good in a rock competition, because of the phrases I used. For the second vocoded piece, I couldn't find it in freesound.org, so mr. Rabuse took me into a room and showed me the snowball mike. This is were I recorded myself fo0r the last part of my project. Enjoy!!!

Today, I finally finished the vocoder song, the only thing I need to do now is post it on to this site. This made me feel really happy because it usually takes me about a week or two to finish a song, this took like 4 classes even with the mess up I made. So tomorow I will be posting my project and starting on project 6!

Today, i had to start over on my project due to what happened yesterday. So I went into the riff machine to get started and what do you know, there is my second piece to my project! Apparently the riff machine keeps the riff you have just selected in its file before you choose a different one, and I hadn't set a new one yet, that made me happy. So all i had to do today was come up with a new drum loop to go with the second guitar part. That was really easy, all i did was listen to the loop and decide wat pattern to put a snare drum, tom drum, and cymbol sounds in. F or the rest of the class all I did was look for a voice on freesound.org to find an ending. That's all I need to do to finish this project. I'm confident that Iwill be finished with this project by the end of this week.

today, i found everything i need except the ending of my project, i think its pretty cool, it's got some kick drums, tom drums, snare drums, and really cool guitar from the slayer. So for my ending i was going to d o a vocoded person saying told you so. I went with Mr. Rabuse to the mike room, where i had to get off my FL Studio up in his room. But he didn't realize i hadn't saved my progress today yet, and accidentally didn't save it. I don't blame him, it was my fault for not saving it. But even with that said I need to start almost completely over, at least I have my beginning part that was saved yester\day, but that still stinks.

For this project we had to play with some automations! this was a fun assignment for me because I like special effects in music. So I chose a funky beat that would give people a feeling of up beatness and want to make them dance. I used the slayer wah wah sound for a bass line, a simsynth sound for a sort of drum loop. For my other instrument i used an fx instrument from the tool bar, and used the riff master tool which was a really fun tool. This is the first project i have had FL Studio 9, so this was a new feature from the program. You out a note or two in the paino roll, and then it makes a riff out of that, it's like the chop tool except more fun. So the things i automated were the volume, the simsynths cut envelope, and the mixers blood overdrive. I really like this loop I have created, so enjoy!!!! Sorry about the first one, it only copied the ending loop i dont know why.

i chose to use the simsynth and used the chop tool, which came up with a really good riff.I think it really gives an electric feeling. at first i had a bunchj of different ideas that I really liked, and i tryed to mix them all together which didnt go so well. But then M.r Rabuse came and helped me figure out how to mix them so they flowed together. Thanks Mr. Rabuse!!! Well, heres my project and I hope you enjoy it.

For this project I had to use the chop tool, and the transpose tool to get my rif. I wanted to give it sort of a hard rockish beat with a little twist of hip hop in the drum beat. When I first started I had a really good guitar rif to go with, but them it didnt get saved so I had to start over, and I think it came out pretty good. Now the chop tool was confusing to me because it randomly picked rifs, so when I lost my first project, i couldnt get it back. Transposing was easier though, and for the most part I think it was very affective. If anyone has anythin g to say, like a comment on how you liked it or a question, please leave a comment and i hope you enjoy my loop.

My drum loop

This is my drum loop, it was a hard process because i had never used this program for a project before, i have used sony acid beore, but this program is set up differently. I was hopin to make kind of a junky hip hop drum loop, and i think it worked. To find what i wanted i just looked under the hip hop section, which was the style i was looking for. I think my drum loop fills were suppose to have a sort of feel like it was an intro into the next section of the loop, and so i made them a different type of hip hop. Every new section of thye song has a different type of hip hop, doing this took a lot of work. If you have any comments or questions you want to leave please do, hope you enjoyed my loop.
